Little white dress. A dress to take from desk to dusk, to cocktails.

They say a woman should have a little black dress but what about a little white dress? A dress of a classic cut, but with some detail that makes it unique.

When I saw this dress I knew I had to invest in it. The style felt right to me and I knew it would become a staple in my capsule wardrobe. I loved the use of pleats and how the cut enhances the waist. It hangs beautifully too. Unusual and stunning use of a material for this cut. It could be easily styled for a sporty look with trainers as well as a more glamorous look with stilettos. Nowadays I appreciate items I find easy to wear. In the morning I want to pick one item, put it on and feel like a million dollars without having to check myself in the mirror all the time. I expect comfort and quality. During the day, I want to be focusing on my clients, my business or creating content not on adjusting my dress as I go about my day.

A little white dress is always about a youthful and fresh look for me. Somehow wearing white doesn’t require a lot of makeup to look alive, at least when you have pretty pale skin like me. I used to think white dresses were reserved for summer-only, but then I matured, got smarter and invested in a capsule wardrobe. Wardrobe of pieces where every single of them feels WOW to me.

Wear it all year round.

White dresses aren’t just for summer or weddings. You can easily wear a white dress paired with beige or black boots and jackets all until autumn and winter so you don’t have to reserve it only for the summer months. The same goes for textures and materials. Play with light fabrics paired with wool and leather. They complement each other beautifully.

Take it from desk, to dusk, to disco.

Ready for the day at the office. Little withe dress for work.

I love investing in clothing that is versatile. Clothes which you can transform with various shoes and jackets. This little white dress is one of them. Perfect for a busy working day because it’s comfortable to wear for hours. Thick enough so you are not freezing in the air conditioning room, with enough flare that you still feel put together when you go for a cocktail after work.

The above dress is available here on the Ted Baker website. I also found this summery dress in a similar style but different finish. You can grab it here.

How would you style a little white dress to make it yours?
