Month on Instagram – Happy Birthday to me!

Well, February is only a short month, so we got to next Month on Instagram fast. Today is my birthday too. Yes, I’m so sad to be writing a blog post on my birthday. I’m sitting in front of a telly with a glass of vino :), and I’m just chilling. I don’t do much of that, certainly not enough. This year I don’t plan anything because life and work were busy and it just wasn’t my priority. I regretted that decision for a bit in the morning, but soon I started enjoying my chilled day. The lesson for the future is to have a plan.

The weekend

At the start of the month, I was invited to stay at the Angel Hotel in Bury St Edmunds. My stay there was complimentary, and I’m very grateful for this opportunity. Angel Hotel Bury is a luxury boutique hotel situated right in the centre of Bury St Edmunds. There are some new suites equipped with an enormous bath. You’ll be just minutes away from a lively street full of shops and bars. I went to see a play at the Theatre Royal, which is also only five minutes walk from the hotel. Sometimes it’s nice to have so many attractions on the doorstep. I took my partner with me, and going away for this relaxing weekend reminded me how important it is not just to be together but make memories together too. During our stay, we had a cocktail making class, which I thought was fantastic. At that time is was just a trial but I enjoyed it, and I think this should be something that is on offer for guest and anyone to attend.  Chek it out here.

A little bit of Clarins

Yes, Clarins has launched their version of a contour palette, and it’s nothing like what you might expect from this kind of a product. I think it’s a good thing that it’s different. This palette is wearable and usable so go and have a look at it here, where I wrote all about it, or you can just watch a video here.

New beauty box has launched – this one is luxurious.

If you follow me on Instagram, you’ve seen me tease you abut it. I was impressed with the content. You’ll always find inside full-size products and some deluxe samples. Sure, it’s not cheap, but it is a marvellous way to try luxury products from niche brands. I wrote about it in more detail here, have a look if this might be up your street.

#Isabellethecat

Well, it sounds like you all love my cat more than me! I don’t blame you, she’s fluffy and cute, and I’m NOT. As Isabelle is a mid length furball sometimes, I question if there’s a cat or just fluff in her little bed. :) As Isabelle was so popular maybe she deserves to be in the spotlights sometimes. What do you think?

My skin my story – Drmalogica.

This month I had skin mapping experience with Dermalogica. I’ve been using some of their products to combat congested skin. Recently my regime was changed. I have fallen in love with Dermalogica pre-cleanse, it takes all makeup off even the mascara, and it smells fantastic too. Perfect if you like a fast and easy way to clean skin.  I also for the first time ’employed’ my sister to take a picture. Shes’ don’t a good job, hasn’t she?

Work on the go.

As a blogger and freelancer, I work a lot on the go. I like that, but this month was quite a busy for going back and forth. There are tings I do to make myself comfortable. Since Chris gave me Bose headphones long travel or moving around London has suddenly become a different experience. I love putting music on, cancelling the noise of the surroundings and observe people and places. As you can see, I don’t travel without a dry shampoo either.

Coffee and cake

It would be interesting to count how many blog post is written in coffee shops and bakeries like this one. I discovered it when I was looking for a spot to have lunch after a morning spent doing makeup for a photo shoot. The food was delish, and it all look very Instagramable, so I just couldn’t resist. I love London for those hidden gems.

Socia Beautify Instagram Takeover.

I have also taken over “We are Thirty Plus‘ bloggers Instagram account for a day. It was a lot of fun to see what’s being shared in the blogosphere but I can’t deny it’s hard work too. I felt my eyes were the shape of my screen by the end of the day. If you’re on Instagram, follow our collective as we share their content from various blogs run by 30+ bloggers. We might have a couple of wrinkles, but everyone is super sweet no matter if their blog is huge or only tiny.

Testing new brands – Gerard Cosmetics

This week I tried this matte lip stains. Gerard Cosmetics is an American brand, available on beautybay.com. I had those in my drawer for a good couple of months but only used them once or twice. This week I had a good play with them, and surprisingly they are comfortable to wear. Often when I wear lip stains, my lips look like I’m hundred years old after a couple of hours, but these are much better. Eventually, after half a day my lips needed some hydration, but overall they are impressive.

That’s it, the end of the month. I pick ten posts, which I think will give you a good overview to what I was rambling about over there. If you’re on Instagram and aren’t following me yet, what the heck is stopping you?

I love how inspirational Instagram can be; you just have to choose right people to follow.

You can find me here, come and say hello!
