Get messy in the bathroom – Bean Burst Coffee Scrub Review

Bean Burst Coffee Scrub - Social Beautify

Bean Burst Coffee Scrub are specially formulated anti-ageing coffee based body scrubs. With ethically sourced ingredients Bean Burst claims their scrubs will hydrate and moisturise skin in the deepest levels, resulting in a “brighter, firmer skin tone”. Bean Burst Body Scrubs are hypoallergenic and suitable for all skin types.

After seeing some tasty looking images on Instagram of people posting from their bathrooms selfies covered in coffee, I was sent my very own bag or Been Burst. Now I have a coffee covered selfie too. lol

There are three different types of Bean Burst Coffee Scrubs.

There’s Sweet Orange Blend to Calm the body and give you radiant skin. The Peppermint Blend is to invigorate, brighten and energise your skin and finally, Grapefruit Blend to relieve stress, clear skin and uplift your senses.

I chose to try the Grapefruit Blend and my bathroom experience was…

Somehow messy I have to say, but fun at the same time. It’s a coffee scrub so you have to be prepared that your shower or bath is going to be a little messy afterwards. But it will also smell delicious for hours after you leave the bathroom.

The smell is divine; the scrub I used was fresh and very uplifting. It was quite tasty if I may say so and made me think of orange flavoured chocolate, my favourite btw. The texture was much nicer that I expected. The scrub was quite powerful. If you wish to use it on the face be extra gentle, and used all over body it works like a dream. You can feel it’s smoothing your skin and hydrating it at the same time. I wasn’t expecting such good hydration from a body scrub at all.

Occasionally body scrubs infused with essential oils can leave too thick residue on the skin but this one left my body perfectly smooth and hydrated. There was no need to use body lotion and my skin felt well hydrated also the next day. My body was smooth – it was very smooth indeed!!! And my skin had a lovely healthy glow, which I guess was due to the brightening power of grapefruit and hydrating properties of the essential oils.  I hate to say it, but my skin felt better than when I use my favourite body scrub from Soap and Glory.

I wouldn’t swap my regular body scrub though. I’d probably use it as an add on and the only reason for it is the mess that’s left after. Sometimes I jump in the shower late at night but still want to use a body scrub, however I don’t fancy cleaning the bathroom afterwards. For those nights I’ll keep my Soap and Glory scrub, but for days off I will use my new fave Been Burst.  Next time I may try the Peppermint Blend.

Have you had a chance to mess about with a coffee bean scrub? How did you like it?

I absolutely agree with everything you say, but this is definitely my favourite body scrub. I am in my early 50’s and I love the way my skin looks and feels after using BB. Yes the shower does get a little messy but it is easily rinsed away with the hand shower and its worth it. I will feel much more confident in my summer clothes this year.

I really like the sound of this, but my fear would be that the coffee grounds would bung up my plumbing. I always like a natural scrub, so much better for the environment than plastic microbeads, but I am curious as to what is so anti-ageing about this particular formula.

      Hi Joanne,
Thanks for your comment. Good point with the plumbing :) I suppose it depends how effective your plumbing is in general. I find similar to Jayne that it’s not a big deal to flush it out. U just run substantial amount of water after and to be hones you won’t use too much of it at one time either. I don’t think it will have any other effect to the of a scrub with microbeads. The anti-ageing part from what I managed to research is to do with essential oils and extracts added. For example mine was with grapefruit full of anti-oxidants, which help to fight free radicals and as such become one of the most powerful and-ageing ingredients. So it won’t get rid of wrinkles or firm skin particularly but bring the glow and prevent premature ageing. This is the ingredient that pays off using as the time goes on. I hope this helps. And thanks so much for your comment.
