The New Clarins Makeup Collection for spring 2016 is themed around ‘Instant Glow’. The collection is designed to brighten eyes with iridescent shades. Cheeks are rosy to give us that fresh face thanks to ra golden blush and lips are kept looking hydrated and juicy. No more chapped and flaky lips, no thanks.
The Palette
Limited Edition Natural Glow 5 Colour Eye shadow Palette is a key piece of the collection. Inside a beautiful rose-gold box you’ll find equality pretty shades. Shades from beige to brown with gentle rose-gold undertones. You can layer them or even use with a dampened brush for more intensity. Truly gorgeous shades, this fast became one of my most loved Clarins limited edition releases. Those shades will take you from day to night. Clarins’ colours are always subtle to enhance a woman’s natural beauty and this collection is just that – with the most flattering tones. You’ll love the iridescent finish, which will freshen up your look but make you look like there is a ray of sunshine coming from within.
This new eye palette is priced at £33 and comes with a double ended spatula, which has a brush on one side and a sponge on the other.
Instant Light Lip Perfector!
My second favourite product in this spring collection. Two new shades were introduced to the iconic lip range and oh my gosh, they’re to die for. I’m obsessed with 08 Plum Shimmer. It’s just perfect! Saying this 07 Toffee Pink Shimmer is also super cute. The Instant Light Lip Perfector costs £18 each and you can use them as balms or prep before applying your lipstick. I always have one in a pocket or handbag.
Eye love in a single pot!
There are four new shades launched in the Ombre Iridescent line!! If you’ve visited Social Beautify before, you’d know I like a pot of eye shadow. Clarins cream-to-powder eye shadows are particularly user friendly with a texture so good you just can’t go wrong with them. You can use your finger or a brush, whichever you find easier. Sweep one shadow all over or mix them up a together. All four shades have pearlescent finish. It’s more intense than the Eye Palette. They feel just like super soft powdered shadows, which glide easy onto your eyelids. It’s a great idea to introduce a few single shadows in wearable shades. They’re great for everyday wear, especially if you’re looking for a quick way to doll up your eyes in the morning. In the past I filmed a quick video with Clarins, showing the way to doll up in 5, 10 and 15 minutes. I used one of those Ombre shadows to create these looks. You can have a look at the video here and it’s only a minute long.
Time to blush
The new gorgeous soft pink blush has a very appropriate name, 05 Rose. Use a small amount and pat to the apple of your cheeks to add freshness to your complexion. Nature got it right and we blush because it makes us look healthy and fresh. You’d love Clarins cream blush if you like transparent finish that lets your skin shine through. My favourite way to wear this blush is with Clarins BB Cream or True Radiance Foundation. Dust some translucent powder on top but only after you’ve applied your blusher. You want your base to be still wet when you put a cream blush on, it allows you to blend smoothly.
Lips that want to be kissed!
Clarins extended their range of Age-Defying Lipsticks of Rouge Eclat with four gorgeous pink-ish shades. You’ll love these lipsticks for their smooth and sheer finish. They’re infused with the Nutri-Youth Complex, which protects lips agains dehydration and boosts collagen. But there’s more goodness inside those pretty lipsticks. You’ll find there Vitamin E and 100% plant waxes, which are a secret weapon to perfect smooth lips. You see our lips aren’t porous therefore traditional moisturisers won’t work. You need to use waxes to provide protection and nourishment on the lips. In this case those plant waxes are; mimosa, jojoba and sunflower.
Your new shades are:
23 Hot Rose, 25 Pink Blossom, 24 Pink Cherry and 26 Rose Praline. Rouge Eclat costs £19.50
This collection is beautifully balanced and one where all products really complement each other well. Easy to pick’n’mix products. No matter which of the eye colours you go for and which lip product you choose; the end result is going to be beautiful. I tried various combinations of shadows with different lip products, in each case I felt like those were still complementing each other. I feel this collection is very romantic and optimistic and that’s a great way to feel in spring isn’t it?!
What do you think of the rose-gold Clarins Makeup for spring? Can you see yourself wearing it?
