Clarins has stepped into spring with these new ultra-absorbent balms. If you’ve used and loved Instant Light Lip Perfector Gloss you’ll love Instant Light Lip Balm Perfector too. The balms are very sheer when applied to the lips. This means you’ll see less colour pigment on your lips than with Instant Light Perfector Gloss. At the same time I feel they are more nourishing than the gloss.
They come in six shades and are super juicy on the lips. Fantastic if you like your lips looking quite bare, well hydrated and with just the sheerest hint of colour. If that’s the case you may like to try Instant Light Lip Balm Perfector in My Pink, which reacts to the pH level of your lips, producing bespoke colour. I’m loving 06 Rosewood, it looks very natural and it’s lovely to pop on the lips when I’m rocking the no makeup look.
You can also use Instant Light Lip Balm Perfector to prep your lips before applying your lipstick. Especially before you apply dark and deep shades. It will give you a smoother finish as these balms are infused with nourishing mango and shea. These ingredients make Instant Light Lip Balms probably a better option for you if you tend to often have dry and flaky lips than the Instant Light Perfector Gloss. But that’s just a bit of a guess. I’m making my judgement based on ingredients, common sense and some first impressions on my lips. I don’t suffer with severe dry lips. But I do get a bit of dryness if I work in air conditioned environments for a long time. I had no chance to do a case study on severely dry lips though. If you do suffer with extremely dry lips and you’ve tired Instant Light Lip Balm Perfector already, do let me know what you think!
I found it handy to keep one in my makeup bag to combat the effects of air conditioning. These balms plump up even my dry and flaky looking lips really quickly. This is because Instant Light Lip Balm Perfector have natural peptide, which helps the synthesis of hyaluronic acid, meaning your lips will be better hydrated giving them a fuller appearance.
