New Clarins True Radiance Foundation SPF 15 review.

Two weeks ago Clarins launched a new foundation, True Radiance Foundation SPF 15. This new generation foundation combines both; makeup and skincare benefits. It’s created to give your skin an instant radiant glow and healthy look by enhancing hydration and diminishing imperfections. It’s infused with potent plant extracts to help protect your skin from pollution. Recent studies have shown that pollution is one of the biggest factors speeding up our ageing process.

The instant fix!

Well your skin will look juicy just like all the movie stars complexions on the red carpet that’s for sure! True Radiance Foundation SPF 15 provides full coverage and a perfect glow. But you won’t look sweaty.

Here you can easily see how radiant and even is my complexion.

I used fine translucent powder each time after application just to set my makeup and to help keep it on for longer as I have combination skin, which gets a bit oily in the T-Zone. I also use a tinted moisturiser before applying my foundation, which gives a subtle glow to the skin too. Most days during the afternoon, my skin on my forehead did look a bit shinier than it does when I use a velvet finish foundation, but not any more than it would if using other radiance boosting bases. I’d much rather have a glow on my skin and add a bit of powder than having a matt complexion that may appear tired and dull, especially as the day goes on.

The hidden benefits.

Anti-Pollution action. The True Radiance Foundation SPF 15 is infused with a unique plant extract from Moringa Seed. It helps to fight the loss of radiance by limiting pollution particles from settling on the skin, acting as a shield against a dull complexion. I have to say I’ve got a bit obsessed with this benefit. Each time I’m out and about in central London or waiting on the platform for the tube to arrive I visualise my foundation protecting my skin from the nasty pollution. Sometimes I wish I had a microscope with me. I know, I know, I’m a bit obsessive.

For hydration there’s Tara Gum to form a hydrating layer on the skins surface so you can make sure your skin is perfectly hydrated for 24 hours. This is particularly great if you work in an air conditioned environment. Air conditioning works by sucking the moisture out of the air, which can dehydrate your skin. Using skincare and makeup that helps with your skin hydration may prevent your skin from becoming dehydrated. Great for you if you have a dry skin type as the fountain will look smooth and flawless and help to hydrate dry areas of your skin, preventing your foundation from looking patchy. Good hydration is also key for your base to look flawless and to last longer.

Let’s not forget that they’re also plant extracts to not only protect your skin from pollution but also from free radicals.

When the day goes on…

I like its radiant finish as it makes my skin glow all day long. I have received some complements on my complexion too. I would hugely recommend it for normal and dry skin to add some glow and make your skin look as fresh as a petal. I’m a combination skin type that gets pretty shiny on my T-zone and I still like the radiant finish on my skin, but I’m aware I need to powder my face mid day.

True Radiance Foundation SPF 15 lasted well from morning to evening, however if I skipped my setting powder it would tend to rub off a bit by the end of the day on the oily areas of my face, which is why I wouldn’t recommend it for you if you have an oily skin type. I guess though that if you have an already oily skin type, you probably don’t want to add any more shine to your complexion.

After removing my makeup, my skin looked great, with no signs of irritation or redness.

Look finished of with a touch of pink blush and a slick of sheer lipstick.

This foundation is available in 10 different shades. I’m using 105 Nude, which is the third shade up.  It comes in a glass bottle with a pump and it costs £27 for 30ml, which is a regular size for a foundation. It’s now available online and from Clarins counters nation-wide.

Hi. I am absolutely over the moon that Clarins have decided to bring this foundation back on their shelf! I wore it 9 years ago at my wedding, and shortly after that it was discontinued. I have been scraping the bottle with a earbud since – only for véry special occasions! ;)

It just make your skin look luminous – when dry, it looks like your skin reflects with gold, giving it a very even natural glow.

Thank you Clarins ~ you made my year! :)
