Aromatherapy Associates, Soothing Daily Repair Moisturiser – review.

Soothing Daily Repair Moisturiser

Aromatherapy Associates launched in June 2012 a Soothing Skincare Collection. A range of 6 products for those who want to soothe and calm the skin. I’ve tried the Soothing Daily Repair Moisturiser and here is the story of my little affair with it. This range is infused with a very special ingredient; prebiotics, which works to encourage healthy bacteria on our skin and as a result, the skin will increase its natural resistance. I’ve heard a lot of good opinions about Aromatherapy Associates so this moisturiser had a lot to live up to.

It comes in a pump action tube, which usually indicates a light lotion texture. Its texture was surprisingly creamy, not runny at all. When I first smoothed the Soothing Moisturiser on my skin I thought it felt a bit greasy. This feeling disappeared within less than a minute. After stroking my face a couple of times I came to the conclusion that it’s nourishing rather than oily. This is probably due to the use of essential oils.

You can smell all the goodness in it too.  With the scented fragrance of all the natural ingredients, it has a very distinctive herbal scent. You may need to get used to it if you have never used anything with natural essential oils as they tend to smell very ‘real’.

How does it perform?

I’m always quite skeptical when I’m starting a new skincare treatment and despite Aromatherapy Associates having a great reputation I still had to be convinced by the results on my skin. Is this lighter texture going to be enough to moisturise my skin? Am I going to break out? Will it sooth my skin or cause irritation and redness? Is my skin going to still be radiant even when I stop using my Genifique serum and give my face into hands of plant extracts?

Well…. it has been more than fantastic. When I first started using Soothing Daily Repair Moisturiser from Aromatherapy Associates, my skin was certainly showing some signs of stress and the need of a holiday. I’ve been using it probably for a good two months now and I have to say I’m loving the texture. It feels like it coats the surface of my skin but doesn’t leave a film. At the same time it really is giving the skin a good drink. My complexion is looking good and not irritated. Skin looks radiant now although noticeably radiant skin wasn’t an immediate result in my case. I haven’t noticed any of my pores blocking and I could even dare to claim that any little bits of dry flakey skin around my nose and chin have disappeared too.

Who is it best for?

Associates recommend it for dry and stressed skin as it’ll support the skins natural regeneration process. It’s supposed to maintain your skins natural radiance.

Arometherapy Associates Sootihng Moisturiser

Ok, so it may not be the cheapest soothing cream out there on the market but I have to say I’m really amazed how little of it you need to use. One pump is enough for the whole face. I really haven’t used much of mine at all and I’ve been using it twice a day for over two months now. It’s £49 for a 50ml tube but I think I can justify this price. Most hydrating moisturisers from premium retailers will be priced at a minimum of £40 per 50ml.

Feeling tempted? You can get it from Aromatherapy Associates web site here. I would really love to try one of their famous bath oils next. Have you used anything from this brand? Anything you would recommend?
