Finding the perfect piece of clothing is every women’s dream. Timeless, perfectly cut, comfortable and glamourous. Is it even possible? At some point in our lives we simply start to understand the need of it. We desire it. I do anyway! It was born in 1920 and it’s nothing other than a Chanel tweed jacket. Oh, of course I’d love to have one!
Luckily, I have this sensible inner self that is telling me to stick to the much cheaper alternative like my Chanel style jacket from Zara. For now this one will have to do. I also plan visiting a tailor during my holiday in May, to have one made for me. (Some other things are at present on the top of my wish list, and as I can’t have everything I want at once, I’m always looking for some good alternatives).
When Coco Chanel created her first jacket she wanted it to be comfortable to wear, just like a cardigan. She achieved this by stitching silk lining into the outer fabric with the boxy cut and three-part constructed sleeves to allow better motion.
You will find Chanel style jackets are remarkably versatile. I wear mine with jeans, cropped trousers, skirts and dresses.
Here I wore it with my Mango knit dress and pumps from New Look.
