City chic in the shades of grey.

This is how I try to work my smart casual city chic when I can smell spring in the air.

As soon as the first sun rays started to poke through the thick layer of grey clouds, I ditched my black coat and jacket with a fury collar and went out with a lightweight grey jacket. Unfortunately the air was quite cool though, reminding me with every stronger blow of wind, that it’s not quite spring just yet. Luckily I had a lovely woollen scarf wrapped around my neck, which was a Christmas gift from my friend “Gloria”. I wore it with my ankle boots instead of the knee high boots.

I chose to wear my new pair of trousers, which I picked up from ZARA last week. I decided to go trouser shopping after my recent wardrobe “certification’, when I realised I had no trousers at all. Can you believe it? This cut was already in last season but it is particularly fashionable this season too. These trousers are now available in all sorts of colours and patterns. I really like the texture of the fabric on these particular ones.

I’d like to take a small challenge this spring of showcasing you some of my easy city chic outfits. My aim is to create outfits which are going to be feminine, wearable and affordable.

I want to use some items that have been in my wardrobe for a while. Pieces I picked during the January sales (very few this year) and also some new season buys.

Shirt – GAP
Jacket – The Sting
Trousers – ZARA
Shoes – Clarks
Handbag – Wittchen
