How to be Smart in a World of Dumb sale shoppers.

Sale shopping can be great if you follow a few simple rules and are able to resist temptations (only to a certain extent).

In my opinion, sale shopping should be all about getting the right things! It’s very easy to pick loads of bargains, but are they really such a great save if you never wear them?

Know the trends.

Be ready! Do  a little bit of research and find out what are the main fashion trends for next season. This will enable you to pick the right shades of clothes, cuts or material.

Certificate your wardrobe before you set off.

Make sure you know what is already in your wardrobe, this way you will be able to chose items that you can put together with what you already have, creating up to date outfits with both. Sale shopping can also be great for picking that one item you have seen a few weeks back but you thought it was too much, not a necessity etc.

Get steady!

Make a list of items you want to buy on sale. Try 3 groups: things you need, things you could do with, and those you want but don’t  need. Then cross out a few from the last list.

Go! Go SALE shopping with your list.

Have a list with you to remember what it is that you need and to stay focused. Cross things out.

Try things on!

Each of us has got that one item, be it a top, trousers or a skirt, it’s just fabulous but we have nothing to go with it. No matter what we try it just doesn’t look good. If this sounds familiar and you are planing to pick up something to go with it on a sale, I would recommend taking this item with you and trying things on with it. This way you will avoid being disappointed when you get home.

Shop for one thing at a time.

Go shopping with your list and try looking only for one thing at a time. If you need a shirt or a top to go with your skirt! Look just at tops and shirts. If you need a top which is white don’t even look at dark colours and blacks, that’s not gonna help you find what you need. You will just end up with another black top that doesn’t go with your skirt!

Happy Sale Shopping!

Great post. Totally agree. Just because it’s on sale doesn’t mean you should get it. I like to focus on statement pieces or lOng time favs

Thank you. Sometimes I feel like I’m one of the few thinking this way in a mad world of sale shoppers. But I like to get my favourite pieces at the benign of the season to make the most of them. :) I don’t mind to pay full price than.
