On the 28th of December No7 (Boots own brand) launched a couple of new products. My attention caught their BB cream!
There is a huge trend for BB creams at the moment therefore more and more brands are introducing one within their range.
What is a BB cream then?
BB stands for “blemish balm”. it originates in Germany where it was initially used by dermatologists on their post-laser surgery patients. It was used to protect, soothe and refine highly sensitive skin. BB cream was also providing light coverage for post-laser scars, acne and other blemishes.
After recent huge success in Asia it made it to Europe and USA. Now many companies have adapted this formula and produced their commercial version of BB cream. BB cream is a bit like a tinted moisturiser but better!
Most of the BB creams are suited to all skin types like Garnier BB cream with mineral pigments to even the skin. This particular BB cream doesn’t have any properties that would help to treat blemishes and problem skin though.
So what is so great about No7?
No7 created three different BB Creams to deal with different skin types and different problems.
There’s one for Dry and Very Dry Skin, Normal to Dry and Normal to Oily so you can find just the right one for you!
No7’s BB Cream also has SPF 15 and 5*UVA protection.
As of all N07 skincare products, it is also hypo- allergenic.
Each of them will have slightly different features and ingredients depending on which skin type it is designed for.
I tried N07 BB Cream for Normal to Oily skin in ‘fair’.
What does it do?
It gives medium coverage to look more natural than foundation and leaves skin looking naturally beautiful.
Normal to Oily skin has an oil free formula and is enriched in a multivitamin and mineral blend to energize your skin with the addition of zinc (the magic ingredient), which helps to regulate the oil production.
I found it easy to apply with just my fingers. As it promises, I have achieved even skin with a natural finish. It dries quickly and leaves the skin non sticky.
This product was launched by No7 only on the 28th December 2011 and it retails at £12.95 . I bought mine using £5 off voucher. These vouchers are valid until 29th January 2012 and I believe you can get them for at least another week when you spend over £5 in a single transaction at any Boots Store. I have one left so I may actually pick up another tube of BB Cream to keep me going through the summer.
